A LITTLE HUMOR!
“I was looking at the animals on display in the pet store at Post Oak Mall in College Station. I was thinking of buying my daughter a hamster. A few minutes later, a guy walked in and said to the shopkeeper “I’ll take a Livestock Sale Barn Cowboy Monkey, please.”The shopkeeper nodded and took a monkey out of a cage. The little monkey had on Justin boots, a tiny little Stetson cowboy hat and a miniature walking stick cattle prod. He put a collar and leash on the animal and handed it to the man, saying, “That’ll be $5,000. ‘ The man paid and left with the monkey. The surprised man went to the shopkeeper and said, “That was a very expensive monkey. Most of them are only a few hundred dollars. Why did that one cost so much? The shopkeeper answered, ‘Ah, that’s a Sale Barn Cowboy Monkey. He can drive trucks, chase cows, feed and water cattle and back up gooseneck trailers and run a squeeze chute, all with no back talk or complaints. He’s well worth the money. The man then spotted a monkey in another cage. ‘That one’s even more expensive! $10,000! What does it do?‘Oh, that one’ replied the shopkeeper, ‘that’s an Auctioneer Monkey’, he can read, count by 2 1/2’s, group cattle by weight and body score, talk real fast in a microphone and tell bad jokes. He is very useful monkey indeed.’The man looked around a bit longer and found a monkey with a $50,000 price tag. The shocked fellow exclaimed, ‘this one costs more than all the others put together! What in the world can it do?’‘Well, said the shopkeeper, I’ve never actually seen him do anything except drink beer, eat BBQ, put his hands in his pockets, prop his feet on the fence and scratch his head a lot. But his papers, say he’s an Order Buyer.’

**BUYERS**

All animals must be paid for prior to being picked up unless other arrangements have been made with management. If you have not bought animals before please let us know so we can have someone assist you. We have many experienced buyers to help make everything easier.

**SELLERS**

Once your animals have sold on Saturday, it usually takes about 15 minutes to process your check. If you need to pick up your check later, someone will be available all night on Saturdays until 11:00am on Sunday mornings. We are open Mondays from 9:00 am until 2 pm. If you prefer, you may pick a check up during those times. Please contact us if other arrangements need to be made.

CONFUSION
Livestock are animals that are bred and raised to keep the producer broke, the commission man confused, and the buyer crazy.
Livestock are born in the spring, pastured in the summer, mortgaged in the fall, and given away in the winter.
They vary in size, color, weight, and grade. The man that can guess nearest to the weight and market grade is called a buyer by the public,
a robber by the rancher, and a poor business man by the banker. In talking to buyers and sellers, some say the market will
go up and some say it will go down. Whatever you do will be wrong. When you have light cattle, the buyers want heavy ones; when you
have heifers they want steers and vice versa; when they are thin they should be fat, and when they are fat they should be thin.
There is one thing you can depend on, the commssion man will always say,
"YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN HERE YESTERDAY."
